KELSEY MYRON-KARELS
SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
As a kid, Kelsey read and re-read "Miss Rumphius" by Barbary Cooney. In it, the lead character strives to make the world a more beautiful place by sowing Lupine seeds wherever she goes on her bicycle. This quest -- the quest to create beauty, meaning, and purpose in the world -- took Kelsey on a winding journey through many states, countries, and educational foci. Eventually, she found her calling through healthcare interior design. To her, the spaces in which we live and heal can transcend their combination of materials. If an environment is equally functional and aesthetically pleasing, it can become a vehicle for change.
When untethered from her laptop, Kelsey can be found cycling her family around town on her cargo bike, literally smelling the flowers or digging in the dirt, channeling her childhood literary hero. Unlike Miss Rumphius, though, she can also be found drinking gin & tonics and dancing around the living room to *loud* 90's R&B, classic rock, or Taylor Swift with her two little girls.
